New York Entry #3
We visited Central Park a few times during the stay. It's cold now so we didn't do much besides walk around, but it is a gorgeous and huge park in the middle of Manhattan and a good getaway from the skyscraper jungle. The above picture was from the last few days. We were lucky and had sunny weather for the most of the trip and at the end got to see snowy New York to complete the experience without being completely frozen.
We visited two religious houses of prayer on two separate days. The first was a synagogue on Eldridge Street. It has funky architecture where it looks like a church but the all the symbols are replaced with the Jewish star due to the designer only knowing how to design churches. It is known for the very pretty and huge window inside that shines through in vibrant blue.
The second place was the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, an unfinished church but the largest in the US and 4th largest church in the world. Places of worships do not have particularly a lot to look like a museum, but it is one of my favorite things to do when visiting places. You can spend some time looking at the architecture and windows and the old relics they've acquired throughout the ages. You can walk in for free, spend as little as 15min or stay as long as you like, and I like how relaxing and quiet they are compared to the busy, outside world.
